RingCentral impressed investors with its latest earnings that sent shares up 13% in overnight trading.
After a day when many artificial intelligence stocks got dinged over fears of excessive spending, the rise was a pleasant surprise for the firm that makes AI-powered tools for calling, messaging, and meetings.
The company also uses human-sounding voice AI agents to handle customer calls and requests. While such AI agents can be infuriating when callers just want to speak with a real person, RingCentral’s results reflect their growing popularity with businesses.
Not only did the company beat expectations for earnings and revenue, it also raised its full-year revenue expectations from $2.635 billion to $2.646 billion when it last reported earnings to $2.650 billion to $2.657 billion.
For the third quarter, earnings were $1.33 per share, well above analyst expectations of $1.28 per share among those polled by FactSet. Revenue came in at $676 million, ahead of the $667 million that was expected.
The company has had a great year, with its stock rising 175% in 2026. That’s thanks to consistently beating expectations as well as from its pivot from an old-school business phone service to a real player in agentic AI.
