The boost maintains AbbVie's spot in the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats Index, whose 69 members have paid a higher dividend for at least 25 straight years. It also keeps AbbVie's place on the smaller list of 60 dividend kings--those that have raised their dividends annually for at least 50 years in a row. While AbbVie's only been around since 2013, it inherited its dividend-paying status from former parent Abbott Labs, another royal payer.
