On February 10, financial authorities announced that the Shanxi Kelan Rural Commercial Bank has been penalized for not adhering to regulations concerning the sorting of damaged and defaced renminbi. According to an administrative penalty decision published by the Xinzhou City Branch of the People's Bank of China, the bank received a warning and was fined RMB 2,300.
