Seatrium Limited said on Oct, 22 2025 that it has received a notice of arbitration from the buyer of a wind-turbine installation vessel (WTIV) that the group is constructing for Maersk Offshore Wind’s Empire Wind 1 project in the United States.

The arbitration notice, delivered on Oct, 21 2025, states that disputes under the construction contract will be referred to London arbitration under current London Maritime Arbitrators Association terms, but it does not specify the buyer’s claims or the remedies sought.

The move follows the buyer’s notice of termination issued on Oct, 09 2025, which Seatrium Energy (International) Pte Ltd (SEI) rejected on Oct, 12 2025, alleging the buyer was in repudiatory breach of contract. On Oct, 20 2025, SEI informed the buyer that the vessel would be delivered by Jan, 30 2026.

Seatrium said it is taking legal advice and will “vigorously prosecute its position and defend any claims,” adding that the financial impact will depend on the final outcome. The group pledged to provide further updates when material developments arise.
