The mass production of 5 drone models has been achieved, 200 export-oriented units have set sail overseas, the inaugural Low-Altitude Economy Frontier Forum was an unprecedented success, and the company has taken a leading role in drafting multiple industry standards... Over the past year, Baotong Defense Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Baotong Defense), located in Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province, has delivered an impressive report card. This top-tier domestic enterprise, which covers the entire smart unmanned systems industrial chain, is becoming the core engine for Jingbian's ambition to create a national low-altitude economy pilot zone. On January 5th, at the composite materials workshop of Baotong Defense's Jingbian production base, key components like drone wings, fuselages, and propellers were being freshly "baked" in batches. This was achieved through a process where new epoxy foam material combined with carbon fiber is molded and foamed integrally. Jia Shuai, the workshop director, stated, "We used to rely on external purchases for parts, which was costly and left us dependent on others. Now, we independently research, develop, and produce them. Using molding presses for batch manufacturing combined with real-time data monitoring ensures both precision and cost reduction." As a high-tech enterprise, Baotong Defense boasts a R&D team for smart unmanned systems that accounts for over 40% of its workforce. Among these R&D personnel, 70% hold master's degrees or higher, with more than 10 PhDs leading specialized research. Core team members are often national-level scientific leaders who have presided over numerous key national model projects. Leveraging this "high-precision" team, Baotong Defense has successfully developed more than 20 types of unmanned aerial system products. Zhao Gang, Chairman of Baotong Defense, indicated that the company's current layout is "Jingbian Base + Xi'an R&D Center + Beijing Promotion Center." This structure, coupled with the advantage of 5,000 square kilometers of clear airspace in Jingbian County for test flights, forms a closed-loop, full industrial chain spanning from research and development, manufacturing, and testing to sales. "The vitality of the low-altitude economy lies in integration; it requires both cutting-edge technology and practical, grounded applications," Chairman Zhao Gang explained. In 2025, the company, through a series of in-depth collaborations and scenario innovations, is enabling drone technology to take flight from the laboratory into the vast market. In terms of industry-academia-research collaborative innovation, Baotong Defense has co-established a provincial-level key laboratory with Northwestern Polytechnical University and formed joint research centers with top universities like Tsinghua University and Beijing Institute of Technology, focusing on joint research and breakthroughs in key technologies within the field of smart unmanned systems. Furthermore, the standard "Requirements for Autonomous Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance for Low-Altitude Logistics Drones," in which Baotong Defense participated in drafting, has been officially released. Zhao Gang was appointed as an expert member of the Shaanxi Provincial Low-Altitude Equipment Standardization Technical Committee. In the promotion of application scenarios, scientific and technological achievements are being rapidly commercialized. In April 2025, at a tree-planting site in Fengjiamao Forest Farm, Jingbian, Baotong Defense's heavy-lift drones single-handedly transported 100 kg of saplings per trip, accurately delivering them to complex, hard-to-reach afforestation points. This transformed the labor-intensive task, previously requiring dozens of people to carry loads manually, into an efficient operation managed by just a few drones, providing a technological solution for ecological restoration on the Loess Plateau. In May, at the Xi'an exhibition area of the Silk Road International Exposition, Baotong Defense's drone products made a stunning appearance, attracting numerous potential partners. Strategic collaborations with China Mobile and China Tower Group are creating comprehensive, regionalized drone management and control solutions through the integration of "hardware + software + network," allowing the low-altitude economy to take root locally. In enhancing industrial capacity and expanding regional influence, the inaugural Yulin Low-Altitude Economy and Smart Unmanned Systems Frontier Forum, hosted by Baotong Defense, was held in Jingbian in August 2025. Over 80 leading experts from institutions such as Tsinghua University, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) gathered to offer suggestions around the theme "Expanding Low-Altitude Applications, Building an Intelligent Foundation." Leveraging the forum's impact, Baotong Defense further expanded its industry influence and also gathered intellectual support for the development of Jingbian's low-altitude economy. Concurrently, Baotong Defense's foreign trade business achieved a breakthrough, with 200 export-model drones successfully shipped abroad, laying the foundation for "Yulin Intelligent Manufacturing" to go global. Five mass-produced drone models have cumulatively shipped over 200 units for applications in emergency response, firefighting, inspection, and logistics, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from users. Behind this series of impressive achievements lies the synergistic resonance of policy support and the company's solid, hard work. Baotong Defense has successively won multiple honors, including Shaanxi Province's "Unveiling the List and Assigning Commanders" project and Yulin City's Strategic Scientist Project. The "Xi'an Low-Altitude Intelligent Equipment and Application Industry-Education Integration Community," formed in collaboration with universities, ensures precise alignment between talent cultivation and industry needs. "We will take technological innovation as our core driving force, industry-academia-research integration as our development path, and diversified scenario applications as our growth engine, writing a new chapter of innovation across 5,000 square kilometers of clear airspace," Zhao Gang stated. He expressed that with the continued commercialization of more technological achievements and the establishment and refinement of more cooperative platforms, this high-tech enterprise rooted in Jingbian will inject even stronger momentum into Jingbian's goal of building a national low-altitude economy pilot zone.
