5月23日，特朗普签署多项与核电发展相关的行政命令。这一系列行政命令旨在加速美国核能产业发展，具体包括简化新反应堆审批流程、改革核能监管委员会(NRC)、推动铀矿开采与浓缩能力提升、鼓励联邦土地和军事基地建设核设施等。
与此同时，在COP28会议上，31个国家承诺到2050年将全球核能装机容量提升至当前的三倍。这一趋势直接带动了铀资源需求的增长，预计2040年全球铀矿缺口将达1.3亿磅。
