Urban quality improvement is tied to development momentum and governance efficiency. In Wen County, a profound "urban renewal initiative" is unfolding, embodying the principle of "cities for the people."

Since the launch of the "Three Focuses and Three Promotions" campaign, Wen County has targeted practical actions to overcome challenges, revitalizing the old town while ensuring tangible benefits for residents.

**Breaking Barriers—Resolving Bottlenecks, Calculating the "Warmth and Happiness Ledger"** The opening of the Wen County section of the Wu-Jiu Expressway marked a pivotal moment in the county’s urban renewal. This 14.28-kilometer "transportation artery," stalled for years due to various issues since its 2018 inception, was prioritized by the county government this year. A dedicated task force tackled obstacles systematically, ultimately delivering this "happiness expressway." Now named "Wenchang Avenue," it integrates traffic, flood control, ecology, and landscape functions, becoming a "new landmark" for Wen County.

"It used to take 30 minutes; now it’s just 10!" exclaimed Wang Jianjun, a resident of Chengguan Town, encapsulating the project’s impact.

Geographically constrained, Wen County faces limited urban development space, with 52% of its 5,003.49-square-kilometer area designated as nature reserves. The county seat is squeezed into a narrow strip between "two mountains and a river," exacerbating land scarcity. Addressing this, Wen County has adopted bold measures to dismantle obstacles and reshape the urban fabric, injecting new vitality through demolition, reconstruction, and management.

Residents are the best judges of urban renewal. Li Jiawei from Chengguan Town noted, "The town’s charm lies in the upgraded rainbow walkways, pocket parks, and riverside paths—tangible improvements that make life here more beautiful."

**Tackling Challenges—Transforming Neglected Corners into Vibrant Spaces** Back alleys, once governance blind spots, were a source of public frustration. Yang Chanxiang from Shenjiapo Village recalled fetching his child from night classes with a flashlight: "It was pitch-dark; you couldn’t walk without one."

Responding to such needs, Wen County launched the "Bright Heart Project" as part of its "Top 10 Livelihood Initiatives." A professional team surveyed 86 alleys, installing 356 streetlights in 30 lanes, enhancing nighttime safety.

This year, 15 urban quality projects were prioritized, blending quick fixes with long-term planning. From elevated小吃街 upgrades and road extensions to老旧小区 renovations, dormant spaces have been revitalized.

"The wider roads lift our spirits too!" remarked a resident of Wentai Lane.

**Enhancing Quality—Preserving Ecology, Painting a New Landscape** A 6.5-kilometer riverside "rainbow walkway" has become a highlight, its red, green, and blue paths complementing the scenery. Fitness equipment and greenery dot the route, creating a lively community hub.

"Environmental management and urban development blend seamlessly here," said tourist Zhang Liang from Shanxi, captivated by the views.

Interactive投影 zones in Jiangnan Park, pocket gardens, and upgraded sports centers reflect Wen County’s commitment to绿化 and cultural-tourism integration.

In小吃街 renovations, resident Zhang Shouxi voluntarily set back his ancestral home by two meters for public benefit. "It’s worth it for a brighter street," he said, embodying community support.

"Solving urban bottlenecks lawfully and empathetically addresses residents’ pressing needs," noted Chengguan Town’s Party Secretary Han Xiaowen. Government plans and public cooperation are driving Wen County’s renewal.

Today, propelled by the "Three Focuses and Three Promotions," Wen County continues deepening urban renewal. By treating residents’ "small concerns" as governance priorities, the county synchronizes urban uplift with public happiness.
