China Eastern Airlines Reports 3.54% Decrease in January Passenger Capacity

China Eastern Airlines (00670) announced that its passenger capacity, measured in available seat kilometers, decreased by 3.54% year-on-year in January 2026. Passenger traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometers, fell by 1.03% compared to the same period last year. The passenger load factor reached 85.01%, an increase of 2.16 percentage points year-on-year. In January 2026, cargo and mail traffic, measured in cargo and mail tonne kilometers, rose by 8.33% compared to the previous year. The company did not introduce any new aircraft during the month but retired one B737 series aircraft. As of the end of January 2026, the company's total fleet consisted of 825 aircraft.
