Harmonic Inc. (HLIT) reported better-than-expected Q4 2024 earnings and revenue on Monday, driven by solid demand for its broadband and video solutions. However, the company provided mixed guidance for 2025, citing expected shifts in customer deployment timing as operators transition to next-generation technologies.
For Q4 2024, Harmonic posted adjusted earnings of $0.45 per share, beating analysts' estimates of $0.37 per share. Revenue rose 33% year-over-year to $222.2 million, exceeding forecasts of $213.5 million.
The company's broadband segment revenue surged 48% to $171 million, while video segment revenue was nearly flat at $51.1 million. Gross margins improved to 56.1% from 49.3% a year earlier, reflecting higher broadband margins.
For 2025, Harmonic expects adjusted earnings per share of $0.43 to $0.68 on revenue of $585 million to $645 million. While the revenue outlook fell short of expectations, the company cited shifts in customer deployment timing as operators transition to next-generation broadband technologies like DOCSIS 4.0.
Harmonic remains optimistic about its long-term prospects, driven by the ongoing demand for broadband and video solutions. The company also announced a new $200 million share repurchase program, reflecting confidence in its future profitability and cash flow generation.
