September 1 - As Apple's autumn launch event draws near, its largest contract manufacturer Foxconn's Zhengzhou facility is experiencing a production surge. Multiple employees recently disclosed that production lines are currently operating around the clock, with tens of thousands of workers working overtime to ensure timely delivery of new products.
A Foxconn employee stated that since joining the company in early August, they have been "working overtime every day." During this year's peak hiring season, the Foxconn facility in Zhengzhou Port Area recruited approximately 200,000 employees in total.
Notably, due to the upcoming launch of the iPhone 16, iPhone 15 prices continue to decline. According to reports, the iPhone 15 achieved a transaction price of only 239 yuan in a recent promotional event, marking a new low since the device's market debut.
As a core component of Apple's supply chain, Foxconn experiences annual peaks in recruitment and production rushes before new product launches. According to Apple's official announcement, the autumn launch event will be held at 1 AM Beijing time on September 10, where the iPhone 17 series and other new products will be unveiled. Following previous patterns, pre-orders for the new devices are expected to begin on September 12.
Recruitment dynamics indicate changing production demands. Public announcements show that August 29 marked the final day of peak recruitment for Foxconn's Business Group A in Zhengzhou. Starting August 30, wages were significantly reduced, with only a few business groups still recruiting temporary workers.
