Tingyi Shares Surge Over 5% Following Strong Profit Growth

Tingyi (00322) saw its shares climb more than 7% after the release of its financial results. At the time of writing, the stock was up 5.08%, trading at HK$12.63, with a turnover of HK$227 million.

On March 23, Tingyi announced its 2025 annual results. Revenue reached approximately RMB 79.068 billion, a decrease of 2% year-on-year. Profit attributable to shareholders was around RMB 4.5 billion, marking a 20.5% increase compared to the previous year. Basic earnings per share were 79.86 cents, and the company proposed a final dividend of 39.92 cents per share along with a special final dividend of 39.92 cents per share.

For the full year 2025, the company's instant noodle business generated revenue of RMB 28.421 billion, a slight increase year-on-year, accounting for 35.9% of the group's total revenue. Favorable raw material prices and selling prices led to a 1.1 percentage point improvement in the gross profit margin for the instant noodle segment, reaching 29.7%. This margin improvement drove a significant 10.1% year-on-year increase in profit attributable to shareholders for the instant noodle business, which totaled RMB 2.252 billion.

The beverage business reported total revenue of RMB 50.123 billion for 2025, representing 63.4% of the group's total revenue. Beneficial raw material costs and an optimized product mix helped increase the beverage segment's gross profit margin by 2.2 percentage points to 37.5%. This improvement in profitability resulted in an 18.5% year-on-year surge in profit attributable to shareholders for the beverage business, which amounted to RMB 2.274 billion.
