Shares of Shandong Hi-Speed New Energy Group Limited (SDHG) plummeted 5.19% in intraday trading on Thursday, following the company's release of its August 2025 power generation results. The sharp decline comes as investors react to a reported 2.4% year-on-year decrease in the company's total operating power generation for the month.
According to the business update, SDHG and its associates generated approximately 526,707 megawatt-hours (MWh) of power in August 2025, down from the same period last year. The company's wind power plants, operated by subsidiaries across various regions including Henan, Shandong, and Inner Mongolia, reported a more significant 7.6% year-on-year decline in power generation for August, totaling 145,028 MWh.
Despite the negative monthly figures, the company reported a 6.3% increase in aggregate operating power generation for the first eight months of 2025, reaching approximately 4,815,272 MWh. Additionally, wind power generation for the year-to-date period showed a 9.5% increase compared to the previous year. However, these positive long-term trends appear to have been overshadowed by the immediate concerns over the August performance, leading to today's sharp stock price decline.
