On January 27, the inaugural direct high-speed train service from Wuxi to Hong Kong commenced, with the G384 departing from Wuxi East Station bound for Hong Kong's West Kowloon. The previous day, the G386 train traveling from Hong Kong's West Kowloon to Shanghai Hongqiao had arrived at Wuxi East Station. With the successive launch of these two services, high-speed rail now facilitates direct "two-way travel" between Wuxi and Hong Kong, significantly shortening the travel time and distance between the two regions.

Capitalizing on the launch of the direct rail link, the "Gathering Talents for Wuxi, Integration of the Two Bays" 2026 Hong Kong Delegation Wuxi Visit Signing Ceremony was held on the 27th. A batch of high-quality cooperative projects in fields such as inspection, testing, certification, and cultural tourism were signed and initiated, further heating up Wuxi-Hong Kong collaboration.

At the event, the Wuxi Municipal Market Supervision Administration signed a memorandum of cooperation with Stewart Information Services Corporation (STC). STC will engage in practical cooperation with Wuxi in the field of inspection, testing, and certification, jointly establishing the "STC Yangtze River Delta Food (Special Food) Joint Testing and Certification Center" and the "STC Innovative Medical Device R&D Testing Center." Furthermore, the two parties will deepen collaboration in areas including mutual recognition of laboratory data, development of forward-looking standards, commercialization of research outcomes, and talent exchanges, comprehensively enhancing the international competitiveness of Wuxi's inspection and testing certification sector and providing solid technical support for "Made in Wuxi" products going global.

The Wuxi Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau signed a memorandum of cooperation for the Wuxi Cultural Tourism Promotion Center (Hong Kong) with Hong Kong Wing On Travel Service Ltd., and also signed a letter of intent for the Wuxi-Hong Kong Cultural Exchange Month activities with the Hong Kong Jiangsu Youth Association. Wuxi and Hong Kong will strengthen the integrated development of their cultural and tourism industries, while simultaneously increasing cross-border promotion efforts for intangible cultural heritage and art technology, jointly fostering cultural innovation and mutual learning.

"Every time I visit Wuxi, I deeply feel the vibrant dynamism driving Wuxi's high-quality development and its close cooperation with Hong Kong. I will work hard alongside my compatriots in Wuxi to leverage the strengths of both places, particularly in technological innovation, to better achieve win-win development," said Rong Kangxin, Vice President of the Wuxi Overseas Friendship Association and President of the Wuxi Residents Association in Hong Kong.
