China Eastern Airlines (00670) reported a 3.54% year-on-year decrease in passenger capacity (available seat kilometers) for January 2026, with passenger traffic volume (revenue passenger kilometers) down 1.03% year-on-year. The passenger load factor rose 2.16 percentage points year-on-year to 85.01%. Meanwhile, freight traffic volume (revenue freight tonne kilometers) increased by 8.33% year-on-year.
According to the announcement, domestic routes in January saw both new and resumed services, including Beijing Daxing–Altay, Xi’an–Jiaxing, and Shanghai Pudong–Jixi, alongside increased flight frequencies on multiple routes. International and regional routes recorded flight-frequency increments for Shanghai Pudong–Melbourne, Shanghai Pudong–New Delhi, and other destinations. The fleet changed slightly, with no new aircraft introduced and one Boeing 737 retired, bringing the total fleet size to 825 as of the end of January 2026.
