CHINA EAST AIR (00670) Reports 9.99% YoY Rise in June Passenger Traffic

CHINA EAST AIR (00670) announced its June 2025 operational performance, revealing significant growth across key metrics. Passenger capacity measured by available seat kilometers climbed 6.54% year-on-year. Passenger traffic, calculated by revenue passenger kilometers, surged 9.99% compared to the same period last year. The passenger load factor reached 86.14%, marking a solid 2.70 percentage point increase year-on-year. Cargo operations also showed strength, with cargo and mail traffic measured by freight tonne kilometers rising 12.74% YoY.

Domestically, the airline enhanced flight frequencies on several key routes. These included Shanghai Hongqiao to Chongqing, Chengdu Shuangliu, Lanzhou, and Beihai; Beijing Daxing to Yinchuan; and Kunming to Wenzhou. Internationally, CHINA EAST AIR launched exciting new routes connecting Shanghai Pudong with Milan and Geneva, Ordos with Daegu, and Xi'an with Istanbul. The carrier also increased frequencies on the Shanghai Pudong to Venice route and resumed flights between Kunming and Maldives.

Fleet development continued actively in June. The company welcomed four new passenger aircraft: three from the A320 series and one C919 model. Concurrently, it retired two A320 series aircraft. By the end of June 2025, CHINA EAST AIR's total operating fleet stood at 816 aircraft.
