Recently, the Party Committee, Women's Federation, and New Era Civilization Practice Station of Jing'an Village in Qixia District, Nanjing jointly organized a themed reading and sharing activity titled "Nourishing Hearts with Books, Forging Souls with National Defense." At the beginning of the activity, Party member volunteers delivered brief presentations on topics such as national security knowledge and achievements in strengthening the military in the new era. Using vivid examples, they explained the profound meaning of the phrase "a country cannot stand without strong defense," guiding villagers to enhance their awareness of national defense and cultivate a deep sense of patriotism. After the lectures, participants moved to the rural reading room, where they quietly read a variety of books, including literary classics, revolutionary letters, and family ethics texts, allowing their thoughts to settle and draw inspiration from the written word. During the sharing session, Party member representatives discussed their reading insights in relation to their work experiences, reflecting on the steadfast faith of revolutionary martyrs depicted in "Red Crag" and the responsibilities of grassroots Party members. Women volunteers shared excerpts from family instruction books like "Yan Family Instructions," calling for the cultivation of civilized rural customs through building a culture of reading within households.
