CHINA EAST AIR (00670.HK) June Passenger Traffic Rises 9.99% YoY

CHINA EAST AIR (00670.HK) reported a 6.54% year-on-year increase in passenger capacity for June 2025, measured by available seat kilometers. Passenger traffic climbed 9.99% compared to the same period last year, with load factor reaching 86.14% - a 2.70 percentage point improvement.

Cargo and mail traffic surged 12.74% year-on-year during the same period. The airline expanded its domestic network with increased flights connecting Shanghai Hongqiao to Chongqing, Chengdu Shuangliu, Lanzhou, and Beihai, along with additional Beijing Daxing-Yinchuan and Kunming-Wenzhou services.

Internationally, CHINA EAST AIR launched new routes from Shanghai Pudong to Milan and Geneva, added Ordos-Daegu and Xi'an-Istanbul connections, while enhancing Shanghai Pudong-Venice frequency and resuming Kunming-Maldives flights.

The carrier incorporated four new passenger aircraft into its fleet last month, comprising three A320-series jets and one C919 model, while retiring two A320-family planes. As of June 2025, the airline's operational fleet totaled 816 aircraft.
