TRAVEL EXPERT (01235) announced that the group is expected to record a shareholder loss not exceeding HK$500,000 for the six months ending September 30, 2025 (the current period), compared to a profit attributable to shareholders of approximately HK$3 million from continuing operations in the same period of 2024. The board attributed this shift from profit to loss primarily to business expansion, including an increase in sales outlets, which led to higher rental and staff costs in sales and distribution expenses during the period. Additionally, as operational scale expanded, the number of backend support system development projects increased, resulting in higher consulting fees for system development and staff costs in administrative and other operating expenses. Furthermore, negative rumors about earthquakes in Japan in the first half of 2025 impacted revenue and gross profit from travel-related product sales. The group will continue to focus on implementing effective measures to expand business channels, strengthen brand image, and enhance competitive advantages.
