4月17日，知名苹果记者马克·古尔曼（Mark Gurman）在专栏撰文指出，苹果公司将于6月举办的全球开发者大会将是该公司历史上最关键的事件之一——这是一个预示后iPhone时代的机会，同时也使其现有设备更具吸引力。苹果MR（混合现实）头显将是此次大会的亮点，但也将展出其他产品。 据悉，这包括新款Mac笔记本电脑，以及自2015年推出首个版本以来对Apple Watch软件的最大更新。总的来说，该公司正计划推出：Reality头显，近十年来苹果首个主要新品类别；全新xrOS操作系统和软件开发工具包；新款MacBook设备；iOS 17；iPadOS 17；macOS 14；watchOS 10。其中，iOS和iPadOS更新版本不太可能提供主要的新功能；全新Apple Watch操作系统将带来更大改进，包括全新界面。
