智通财经APP获悉，切萨皮克能源(CHK.US)和西南能源(SWN.US)周四宣布，拟议的74亿美元合并的HSR等待期已经结束，两家公司预计将在10月的第一周完成交易。
交易完成后，合并后的公司将更名为 Expand Energy Corporation，股票代码“EXE”，将于交易完成后第二天开盘时在纳斯达克交易。
今年4月，在收到美国联邦贸易委员会第二次信息和文件材料请求后，两家公司将预计的合并完成时间推迟到今年下半年。
HSR是交易完成的先决条件之一。1976年，美国国会通过了《哈特-斯科特-罗迪诺反托拉斯改进法》，该法规定，大型企业的合并必须在合并之前向联邦委员会或司法部反垄断局申报批准。除非该法律规定的等待期结束，或者政府批准提前终止等待期，否则不得完成交易。
该交易于今年 1 月首次宣布，切萨皮克能源当时宣布将以约74亿美元的全股票交易收购竞争对手美国西南能源，这笔交易将组建一家企业价值约 240 亿美元的公司，并可能成为美国最大的天然气生产商。
