Avista (AVA) said late Thursday its operating division Avista Utilities has submitted its 2025 Electric Integrated Resource Plan to Washington and Idaho regulators.
The plan includes adding new wind and solar resources by 2030 through ownership or contracts and offering energy efficiency programs to offset 32% of demand growth while ensuring "adequate system supply" through generation resources such as new natural gas generation or energy storage.
The plan also envisages launching demand response programs that could reduce peak demand by up to 4%. Avista said the plan mentions the need of "maintaining and modernizing current infrastructure and the need to acquire new resources to meet customer growth."
