Park Aerospace Says AI-Generated Reports of Recalls Are False -- Market Talk

1209 ET - Artificial intelligence can quickly convert spoken audio to text, though as Park Aerospace learned the hard way, speech-recognition algorithms aren't always 100% accurate. The company during its 3Q earnings call on Tuesday made several references to the requalification, or requal, of some of its products. A requalification is a fairly common event in the aerospace industry, in which products are re-tested to ensure they still meet industry standards, the company says. However, several independent computer- or AI-generated transcription services incorrectly reported these references as recalls, resulting in incorrect reporting from some news outlets. Park says it will correct these transcriptions and articles to reflect that there was no reference to any recalls of its products during the quarter. Shares rise 3.3% to $14.49.
