Alamos Gold (AGI) said Wednesday it has been granted approval of an amendment to its existing environmental impact assessment by Mexico's Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources that will allow construction to start on its Puerto Del Aire gold mining project in the Mulatos District.

Construction at Puerto Del Aire is expected to begin increasing in the middle of 2025, with capital spending of $37 million to $40 million this year, the company said. The project is intended to mine a higher-grade underground deposit adjacent to the main Mulatos pit, the company said.

Alamos expects annual gold production of 127,000 ounces over the first four years, and 104,000 ounces over eight years.
