CHICAGO, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures closed lower on Thursday, pressured by concerns about the impact of U.S. tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada and China, according to analysts.
CBOT May soybeans SK25 settled down 4 cents at $10.37-1/4 per bushel.
CBOT May soymeal SMK25 ended down $2.30 at $300.20 per short ton while May soyoil BOK25 fell 0.24 cent to finish at 45.35 cents per pound.
Confusion swirled around the possible impacts of new U.S. tariffs, which U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday would be implemented on March 4 after floating a delay until April the previous day.
Investors fear tariffs could lead to retaliation against U.S. agricultural exports by impacted countries, such as major soybean importer China.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture projected U.S. farmers will plant more acres of corn and less of soybeans in 2025 than they did a year earlier at its Outlook Forum on Thursday.
