Thor Energy (ASX: THR) said that its unit, Go Exploration, applied to convert the petroleum exploration license 120 (PEL 120) to a regulated substance exploration license offered by the Department for Energy and Mining in South Australia, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

The conversion allows exploration for regulated substances, including hydrogen and helium, addressing a prior regulatory limitation with PEL 120.

Go Exploration will now proceed to plan and execute the initial exploration phase, the filing said.
