芝加哥联邦储备银行行长奥斯坦·古尔斯比周日表示，他希望美国不会走向一个质疑央行在不受政治压力影响下制定货币政策能力的环境。

　　古尔斯比被问及特朗普上周对美联储主席杰罗姆·鲍威尔的抨击时回应称，经济学家普遍认为，能够在不受政治干预的情况下实施货币政策的央行，会为其经济带来更好的结果。

　　而对于那些缺乏这种独立性的央行，他补充道：“通胀率会更高，经济增长更慢，就业市场也更糟糕。”

　　“我强烈希望我们不要陷入一个质疑货币政策独立性的环境，因为这将损害美联储的公信力，”古尔斯比表示。
