Defense contractors were the biggest losers in the S&P 500 Tuesday after RTX sounded a warning on tariffs.
The aerospace and defense specialist said it expects to take an $850 million hit to opreating profit from tariffs this year, without factoring in the higher "reciprocal" tariffs that the Trump administration has put on pause.
Northrop Grumman, RTX and Lockheed Martin were among the S&P 500's worst performers in morning trading.
