Duolingo (DUOL) said Wednesday it has launched 148 new language courses on its platform.

The expansion makes seven non-English languages available to all 28 supported user interface languages and meets the growing demand for learning Asian languages such as Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin, the company said.

Duolingo said advances in technologies such as generative AI has allowed the company to customize base courses for dozens of languages, cutting the time it takes to build a new course.

Shares of Duolingo were down nearly 2% in recent trading.
