GlobalData said it received takeover proposals from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and ICG Europe Fund IX SCSP.

The data, analytics and insights platform said Wednesday that it is in preliminary talks with the parties, but cautioned that there is no certainty any deal will be agreed.

The company hasn't given any indication on the structure of any deal or pricing being discussed. It had a market capitalization of 1.09 billion pounds ($1.46 billion) based on the company's closing share price of 135 pence on Tuesday.

The parties have until May 28 to either make formal offers for GlobalData or withdraw under U.K. Takeover Panel rules.

Shares were up 45 pence, or 33%, at 180 pence in midafternoon European trading. They are currently up 5.3% over the year to date.
