China Tourism Group Duty Free's Q1 Attributable Profit Slides 16%; Shares Rise 3%

China Tourism Group Duty Free (HKG:1880, SHA:601888) attributable profit fell 16% to 1.94 billion yuan in the first quarter from 2.31 billion yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

Earnings per share at the retailer decreased 16% to 0.9367 yuan from 1.1148 yuan in the year-ago period.

Operating income declined 11% to 16.7 billion yuan from 18.8 billion yuan in the prior-year period.

The retailer's shares jumped 3% during Wednesday's afternoon trading.
