Corning COO Eric Musser to Retire Later This Year, Avery Nelson Named as Successor

Corning (GLW) said Thursday that Eric Musser will retire as the company's president and operations chief later this year.

The company has appointed Avery Nelson as executive vice president, starting immediately. Nelson will assume the chief operating officer role after Musser's retirement, Corning added. Nelson joined the company in 1991.

Corning also said it has elected Lewis Steverson as vice chairman, effective immediately.

Corning's stock was up 1.7% in recent Thursday trading.
