Australia's Goods Surplus Widens to AU$6.9 Billion in March

Australia's goods surplus widened by AU$4.05 billion to AU$6.9 billion in March from AU$2.85 billion in February, data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed Thursday.

Exports rose 7.6% to AU$45.35 billion from AU$42.15 billion, while imports fell 2.2% to AU$38.45 billion from AU$39.3 billion month on month.

Within exports, non-rural goods jumped 8.6% and non-monetary gold climbed nearly 25.9%.

Meanwhile, capital goods led the decline in imports as shipments fell 5.1%.
