Gerdau (GGB) has decided to cease the feasibility analysis of a new greenfield unit in Mexico that would focus on the production of special steels primarily for the automotive sector, according to a regulatory filing Wednesday.
The company said the decision was made after a strategic reassessment of the current global market, citing an "increase in trade defense measures" and "growing uncertainties regarding the future dynamics of the global automotive chain."
