声明没有提供 "备忘录 "的细节，称将由沙特工业和矿产资源部与美国能源部进行谈判。
该声明是在美国总统特朗普下周访问沙特之前发表的。
作为 "2030 愿景 "经济多样化计划的一部分，沙特一直在迅速扩大其采矿业，该计划旨在使沙特经济摆脱对石油的依赖，其主要资源包括黄金、磷矿石和铝土矿。
沙特还宣布发现了大量国内资源，去年沙特政府将其对沙特矿产储量的估计提高了近一倍，达到 2.5 万亿美元，这主要归功于稀土储量增加。
