UCC Ueshima Coffee plans to launch its Drip Pod capsule machine in Thailand this autumn, expanding further into Southeast Asia, Nikkei reported Saturday.

The device, designed to replicate hand-dripped brews, has sold around 500,000 units-mostly in Japan-since its debut a decade ago, according to the report.

The Drip Pod series, which offers 15 coffee and tea varieties, has grown sales by 25% annually since 2015, the report said.

UCC has also introduced smartphone controls and custom brewing features, targeting consumers seeking convenience and barista-quality coffee at home, according to the report.

The company began a subscription service in 2015 and added a rental option earlier this year, aiming to grow its user base through tastings and pop-up cafés, the report said.
