过去几年里，苹果不断扩大自研芯片的适用范围，逐步替换第三方供应商。比如在今年初推出的iPhone 16e上，加入了全新的Apple C1，这是首款由苹果自己设计的蜂窝网络调制解调器，未来将随着不断迭代替代使用多年的高通方案。
据TrendForce报道，苹果在智能眼镜定制芯片方面取得了新进展，预计2026年末或2027年量产。如果一切顺利，那么搭载该芯片的新产品将在两年内上市。与苹果的其他关键芯片一样，将交由长期合作伙伴台积电（TSMC）负责制造。
传闻苹果在智能眼镜定制芯片开发上花了数年的时间，为了更好地适用于全天佩戴的轻型智能眼镜，最初的概念主要集中在增强现实方面，但是距离具体的AR实际应用还些距离。传闻芯片基于Apple Watch的低功耗芯片架构上改进，并专门设计了多摄像头控制系统。
与此同时，苹果还在开发其首款AI服务器芯片，以减少对英伟达的依赖。该项目名为“Baltra”，旨在提升苹果在人工智能领域的竞争力，从落后位置迎头赶上，为此苹果还选择了博通作为合作伙伴一起进行开发。该款芯片可能采用台积电N3P工艺制造，预计2027年到来。
