智通财经APP获悉，据媒体消息称，恒生银行(00011)自3月尾下旬发放花红后，罕有地进行较为广泛的裁员行动，现阶段主要涉及后勤支援部门策略及企业发展部、资讯科技部及企业传讯部，涵盖高级至基层员工，削减幅度约10%至50%不等，传裁员行动拟于6月底前完成。
消息指，不同部门对于裁员的处理手法各有不同，有员工遭即时解雇获赔代通知金，亦有员工是在1个月前获通知将被解雇，这类按通知期作事前通知遭解雇的员工，将不获代通知金赔偿。不过，该行向所有被解雇员工作出的长期服务金赔偿优于劳工法例要求。
恒生发言人回应媒体时未有否认裁员，亦未有透露裁员数目，只重申为应对瞬息万变的市场环境和客户日益多元化的需求，该行不时检视业务组合和营运，并会作出适切的调整，包括优化或创建新职能、调整业务架构，以及提升员工的技能等，以更好地为客户提供优质的服务。
有分析指母公司汇丰控股(00005)为精简架构而重组，恒生难免亦要跟随，加上恒生的资产质量受压，去年其不良贷款率升达6.12%，业绩表现受关注，尤其目前环球经济前景极不明朗，或促致使该行重组裁员来节流。据该行去年度的年报显示，共有约7000名员工，当中不包括中国业务。
