随着特朗普政府对高校的打击令其财务前景蒙上阴影，麻省理工学院（MIT）计划减少其名声在外的研究项目招生人数，并裁减员工。

　　特朗普大幅削减通过美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）及其他联邦机构发放的经费与补偿，而这正是MIT等研究型大学的重要资金来源。与此同时，众议院刚刚通过的税改法案还将大幅提高对MIT捐赠基金的税率。

　　MIT已采取措施削减成本，包括冻结招聘。MIT发言人Kimberly Allen周三表示，因预计联邦科研拨款将减少，该校计划把2025学年研究生项目的招生人数减少约100人，较刚刚结束的学年下降8%。

　　MIT校长Sally Kornbluth本周在一份声明中表示，未来几个月，“MIT及全美高校，乃至整个美国科研体系，都可能面临更大冲击。我们会竭尽所能防止这种情况发生，但同时也将努力帮助学院和我们的社区做好应对各种后果的准备。”
