路透华盛顿5月22日 - 一位白宫官员称，美国外资审议委员会(CFIUS)在向特朗普总统提供有关日本制铁 5401.T对美国钢铁X.N收购案的建议时内部意见并不统一，但大多数成员认为，该交易如果带来安全风险，也是可以得到解决的。
路透报道，根据特朗普上月签署的一项行政命令的指示，CFIUS在周三向他提交了一份建议，阐述该收购案可能对国家安全产生的影响。有关内容的关键细节至今尚未浮现。在文件提交前，日本制铁为收购获批作最后一搏，将对美国钢铁的承诺投资额提高至140亿美元。
