South Korea will partially resume poultry imports from Brazilian regions unaffected by a recent avian influenza outbreak, to prevent domestic supply disruptions, Yonhap News reported Friday, citing government officials.
South Korea had earlier banned poultry imports from Brazil after the latter reported its first highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) case at a breeder farm in Rio Grande do Sul, according to the report.
Brazil supplies over 80% of South Korea's chicken imports, the report said.
