Li Auto's Total Sales Remain Challenging in 2025 -- Market Talk

0938 GMT - Li Auto's 2025 total sales remain challenging, Nomura analysts write in a note. The company's first-quarter earnings were largely in line with expectations and it and guided for 123,000-128,000 units of total shipments for the second quarter. With Li Auto's L series updates and efforts on promotions, the company should be able to maintain existing sales volumes despite an increase in the number of competitive new models in the market, they say. However, since the company doesn't have a plan for new hybrid plug-in models this year, the brokerage remains cautious on Li Auto's 2025 shipment growth. If the new full-electric SUVs are welcomed by the market, that could be a major growth opportunity for the company by the end of this year, Nomura says.(jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
