继上周日5辆Waymo网约车在洛杉矶被烧毁后，公司从周一开始对旧金山部分区域的叫车服务进行限制，那些区域预期会聚集反对特朗普移民政策的抗议者。

公司发言人在声明中表示：“我们已经注意到潜在的抗议活动，出于充分谨慎考虑，将不在示威者可能聚集的区域提供服务。”

据当地媒体测试，Waymo在旧金山的市中心等区域设置了接送限制，与其他城区相比，候车时间和车费都出现了明显上涨。在洛杉矶方面，公司也在市中心抗议区域外实施了运营限制，从西洛杉矶到距“烧车事件”数英里的NBA湖人队主场“加密网”体育馆，以及南加州大学区域均无法叫车。

旧金山的活动人士则对媒体表示，这些自动驾驶网约车已经成为部分抗议者抵制科技行业与特朗普政府关系密切的象征。
