据行业消息人士称，SK海力士计划在韩国中部建设一个新的半导体后端加工工厂，以提高其芯片封装能力。

　　据消息人士透露，该公司在一份内部公告中表示，将拆除位于首尔以南约110公里的清州工厂的现有建筑，建设新的“封装与测试（P&T） 7”设施。大约10年前，SK海力士从LG电子手中收购了清州工厂。

　　他们说，拆除工作预计将于9月完成。新工厂一旦建成，将成为SK海力士的第七家P&T工厂。

　　P&T工厂负责后端半导体工艺，从前端阶段加工的晶圆中最终确定单个芯片，并将其包装成成品。

　　由于通过工艺小型化进一步提高性能变得越来越困难，先进封装已经成为提高芯片性能和能源效率的关键技术。

　　这对于高带宽内存（HBM）尤其重要，因为HBM需要堆叠多个动态随机存取内存（DRAM）芯片。随着层数的增加，解决散热和翘曲的封装技术变得越来越重要。

　　SK海力士有关人士表示：“为了利用现有土地，正在拆除现有建筑物。我们正在考虑将其用作产品测试设施，但尚未做出任何决定。”
