Aemetis (AMTX) said Friday its subsidiary Aemetis Biogas obtained California Air Resources Board approval for provisional pathways under the Low Carbon Fuel Standard, or LCFS, for seven dairy digesters.
The approval, effective Jan. 1, 2025, enables Aemetis to immediately obtain the increased LCFS credit quantity for the renewable natural gas it produced in Q1, the company said.
"With 11 operating digesters and a four-dairy cluster digester currently being completed, we have additional pathway filings in process that we expect will be approved more quickly than these initial pathways once the LCFS regulatory amendments are adopted this year," Aemetis Chairman and Chief Executive Eric McAfee said.
Shares of the company were up more than 2% in recent trading.
