On June 28, 2025, Hewlett Packard Enterprise $(HPE)$ and Juniper Networks, Inc. announced that they have reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), resolving the DOJ's lawsuit challenging HPE's acquisition of Juniper. This agreement, which is subject to court approval, clears the way for the transaction to close. The acquisition, initially announced on January 9, 2024, involves HPE acquiring Juniper in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $14 billion. As part of the settlement, HPE has agreed to divest its global Instant On campus and branch business while allowing limited access to Juniper's advanced Mist AIOps technology. The settlement is expected to enhance competition in the global networking market and support the demands of AI workloads with a modern network architecture.
