BlockBeats 消息，7 月 9 日，据美国司法部公告，国际诈骗项目 OmegaPro 创始人因实施全球 6.5 亿美元外汇和加密货币投资诈骗被起诉。美国乔治亚州居民 Michael Shannon Sims（48 岁）与新泽西州居民 Juan Carlos Reynoso（57 岁）通过多层营销模式向投资者推销“外汇投资套餐”，承诺 16 个月内获得 300% 回报并要求以加密货币支付。
起诉书显示，被告团队通过展示豪车、度假照片等方式营造奢华形象，后以“遭遇黑客攻击”为由冻结投资者资金阻止其提现，并将资金转移至高管控制的加密钱包。Sims 是 OmegaPro 的创始人和推动者，而 Reynoso 则领导该公司在拉丁美洲和美国的业务。两名被告各面临两项共谋指控，若定罪每项最高可判 20 年监禁。
