北京时间7月25日凌晨，The Verge报道称，据知情人士透露，GPT-5现在预计最早将在下个月推出。此前有微软工程师透露，他们正在为OpenAI的下一代模型GPT-5准备服务器容量，5月下旬到货装机。
阿尔特曼（Altman）曾多次预告过推出GPT-5的计划，这将是一个集成许多技术的系统。
今年2月，他在X平台上写道，他们和多数人一样都讨厌挑选模型，希望只用一个统一智能模型。 OpenAI的首要目标是创建可以使用AI工具、知道何时思考或不思考、且对处理更广泛任务有帮助的系统。
据悉，作为一个统一的系统，GPT-5不仅能够完成视觉分析、代码解释等功能之间的切换，还具备与ChatGPT Agent相同的功能。使用者可以要求它解释图像、发送电子邮件、安排会议、以及根据单个提示撰写和执行语音摘要等。
OpenAI尚未回应媒体对GPT-5在8月发布的提问。仍需注意的是，OpenAI的产品发布计划经常发生变化，以应对开发挑战和服务器容量等问题，甚至还会受到竞争对手AI模型发布计划和泄密等问题影响。
