7月26日，杰夫·贝佐斯完成了对亚马逊股票的一轮大规模出售，自他6月底婚礼日以来，此轮出售为他带来了近57亿美元的收入。此轮套现是按照贝佐斯今年早些时候采用的一项交易计划进行的，总计出售规模不超2500万股，始于贝佐斯威尼斯婚礼的周末左右，当时他卖出了约7.37亿美元的股票。根据美国证券交易委员会(SEC)周五的公告，他于周三和周四最终完成了本轮出售计划，出售约420万股，套现9.54亿美元。此番减持之际，亚马逊股价较4月底的近期低点上涨了38%。自2002年以来，贝佐斯已累计出售亚马逊股票超过500亿美元。

据此前报道，亚马逊创始人杰夫·贝佐斯和他的未婚妻劳伦·桑切斯于六月在威尼斯举行为期三天、耗资1000万美元的婚礼，但反旅游活动人士计划破坏这场婚礼，以抗议该市的过度旅游。

威尼斯的游客数量一直在增加，2019年游客人数超过1300万，当地人感到不堪重负，许多居民离开城市，基本服务消失。

该市正在采取措施控制旅游业，包括征收5欧元的旅游税和限制旅游团规模，但当地人表示，要解决这个问题，在旅游业和保护城市特色之间找到平衡，还需要做更多的工作。
