7月28日，特斯拉首席执行官马斯克上周日证实，这家电动汽车制造商已与三星电子签署了一项价值165亿美元的半导体供应协议，并在这家韩国科技巨头早些时候发布的监管文件中确认特斯拉是未具名的一方。
马斯克在X平台上发帖称：“三星在得克萨斯州新建的大型晶圆厂将专门生产特斯拉新一代AI6芯片。这一合作的战略意义怎么强调都不为过。”他补充道，“三星目前生产AI4芯片，台积电将负责生产刚刚完成设计的AI5芯片，初期在中国台湾省生产，随后转至亚利桑那州工厂。”
马斯克特别强调特斯拉将深度参与制造流程：“三星同意让特斯拉协助优化生产效率。这是关键所在，我将亲自参与监督以加速项目进展。”他还透露，这座新建的得州工厂“地理位置便利，距离我的住所不远”。
根据三星提交的文件，该合同自2024年7月26日起生效，持续至2033年12月31日。虽然三星最初未透露合作方身份，但马斯克的公开声明明确了协议细节。
此次合作公布之际，三星虽然贵为全球第二大晶圆代工厂商(仅次于台积电)，但在AI关键领域的高带宽内存(HBM)芯片市场仍落后于SK海力士和美光科技等竞争对手。
据悉，三星试图获得英伟达HBM芯片认证的计划已推迟至至少9月，这进一步延缓了其市场竞争力提升。该公司定于本周四公布第二季度财报，分析师预计其利润将大幅下滑。
