WA1 Resources (ASX:WA1) said that the metallurgical test work on a sample from the Luni niobium project in Western Australia targeting the production of niobium oxide and ferroniobium from Luni mineralization achieved a niobium oxide sample of nearly 97% grade, with a niobium recovery of 91% from the concentrate, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
The test work was meant to provide a proof-of-concept demonstration of a conventional niobium oxide production process using mineralization.
A 0.5 kilogram of niobium concentrate from a bulk beneficiation program was used as the sample input for the test work, per the filing.
